It has been quite the year for me from a health perspective. Nothing dire, just a relentless and exhausting list of ailments.
Did someone say “Hello 50”?
Yep, turning 50 last year sure did jump start a significant slide in my health, one that I’m fighting valiantly to reverse.
Annoyingly, it affected my ability to wear my gorgeous shoes … although I still managed!
At the start of the year, I was wearing a moon boot thanks to a stress fracture in my left foot.
I loved that many customers offered to bedazzle it for me and suggested I paint it pink.
I did ask for a pink one, but apparently they only come in boring grey.
A few weeks after that, I had a blood clot in my knee (the other leg … go figure!) and six months followed of, among other things, having to wear ugly compression stockings.
Thank goodness it was winter for most of that time and I could cover them up, let alone not pass out from heat stroke. The end of that period was a bit tricky as it was getting warmer and I wanted to wear sandals, but couldn’t.
A few more things happened and then this week, I was at a strengthening class, keen to ensure no further mishaps and increase my fitness levels and agility, when I slipped as I got up from the mat and landed hard on my knee.
So now I have my knee strapped, a colourful bruise and another body part that needs more attention. At least the strapping is hot pink to match my dress!
Until next time
