Ah, the joys of retail…
Two weekends ago, I had my worst weekend in sales … ever!
Last weekend, I had my best weekend in sales … ever!
Seven days apart and a world of difference in results.
There are always 101 (at least!) factors and variables and possibilities as to why people walk through the door of The Shoe Garden on any particular day or press “buy” online at any particular time.
But two things were definitely different between these two weeks.
First, I’ve been advertising on Instagram and Facebook, just dipping my toe into what I regarded as murky waters but the lovely Chloe from Tailored Media has been holding my hand and gently nudging me towards what now I realise isn’t such a scary place.
In the past, my advertising has been solely organic, from word of mouth recommendations and searches on Google.
What I loved with this campaign (apart from the obvious delight in reaching new customers) is that so many of my existing customers have told me how excited they were seeing my ads pop up in their feeds. A fellow business owner has even asked me how I’ve been doing it.
As always, my answer to that is to let the experts do their thing and the team from Tailored have been helping me for nearly 18 years, from my other life through to now. They know their stuff and they’re delightful, too. Such a great combination in business.
And secondly, I’ve had new stock arrive as I do every month, but this month, I have to say, I think my range has been one of the best. It’s diverse and fun and colourful and classic … just like my gorgeous customers.
Well, let’s see what happens this weekend…
Until next time
