I’ve learned the hard way that this isn’t always true.
First, along with gorgeous shoes, I offered handbags, some that even matched my shoes.
They didn’t sell well.
Then I got excited when I found wine stoppers with little shoes on top of them.
Nup, didn’t work either. (And yes, I laughed every time a bemused customer asked who ever had need for such a thing because they always drank the entire bottle! Fair enough).
Jewellery didn’t sell well either. Ditto with shoe clips and other accessories.
I think my customers are so laser-like focused on gorgeous long shoes, something they have often been deprived of for many, many years, that they’re simply not interested in anything else.
I get that. I’d rather buy two pairs of shoes than one pair of shoes and a handbag, given I can get handbags anywhere and size doesn’t matter!
Despite all this evidence, I’m giving it another crack with a new product arriving at The Shoe Garden this week.
I’m very excited to introduce my customers to FRANKiE4’s nail polish. This is one of my favourite brands, I admit it. Designed here in Brisie by the talented and super nice Caroline McCulloch, this podiatrist and physiotherapist is creating gorgeous shoes and boots that keep feet happy and healthy.
So it makes sense that a designer and brand that cares about your feet will also care about your toe nails!
There are 14 gorgeous colours and shades from black to deep red and everything in between. They also have wonderful names such as Kindness, Magic, Dreamer and Nourish.
What’s extra special about these beauties is that, like FRANKiE4 shoes and boots, they don’t just look good … they’re good for you.
These cruelty-free polishes are free of seven nasty toxins often found in nail polishes. I can’t even pronounce most of them but here they are:
- Tosylamide Formaldehyde Resin
- Dibutyl Phthalate (DBP)
- Benzophenone 1
The polishes are long-lasting and quick drying after two coats and I think my customers, who adore FRANKiE4 shoes, will also adore these nail polishes.
At least a touch of colour on your toe nails only makes your new open-toed shoes or sandals look that much better!
Until next time
