I see it all the time … the way moods lift, tension eases and the happiness is palpable as a customer finds a new pair of shoes. Or two or three or more!
There’s something quite delicious about finding just the right shoes or whatever it may be that you are looking for.
The irony is that since opening my beautiful Shoe Garden I have little time to shop, something I used to really enjoy doing.
Yesterday I put my foot down. Instead of working from home, as the lovely Megan looked after the shop, I gave myself the day off. I can’t quite remember when I did this last!
In the space of a few hours, I bought two beautiful caftans from Fiera Boutique. A few blocks away at my favourite book shop ever, Riverbend Books, I accidentally bought four amazing books … I went in for two but somehow came out with four. Oops!
I floated away from that and into the hands of the lovely Bernie for a beautiful pedicure at The Skin Clinicians.
I had a spectacular afternoon without leaving my neighbourhood and not only was each business local, it was also proud and small. That makes retail therapy even more fun as the business woman in me enjoys supporting other like-minded souls.
And yes, my mood lifted, tension eased and I was happy!
Onwards and upwards to sharing a good dose of retail therapy with my own lovely customers today and in coming days, weeks and months.
Until next time
