Being a former dancer, I now have problems with my feet (bunions mainly). Unfortunately, I have been unable to find high-heeled shoes that are both beautiful and comfortable. Recently, desperately wanting to go to a friend’s wedding, and hoping to look and feel great, I did a bit of online research and came across the shoe garden. How very lucky was I! I found a wonderful pair at a wonderful price. Carol was very kind and sensitive in helping me to choose the best pair of shoes for me. I cried when I tried them on, I’ve had such trouble finding nice shoes that don’t make me look like I’m 50 (I’m 28!) for years!! My friend Ella and I made our quarterly visit to your beautiful shop last week. As usual we both came away with a couple of pairs of beautiful shoes. As you know as a teenager and young woman I used to visit shoe shops and enquire if my size was available (the response was usually an emphatic NO), however if I got lucky my next question would be what colours were available? (usually black, brown and white), I would grab the three pairs and run!!!!! I can only describe your Shoe Garden as heaven on earth and you Carol the Guardian Angel!!!! Hi Carol. I received my boots today and I am IN LOVE!!! Thank you for all your assistance. They feel a slight bit small in the length but the leather is lovely and soft and with the pointy toe will no doubt stretch a little. As a woman with mostly black shoes, I am secretly thrilled with the colour. Your personal touch with the wrapping paper and lolly bag (thrilled my children xx) in all honesty, it made me feel a bit pampered and spoilt! Just want to say a very big thank you for the gorgeous shoes that arrived yesterday. They were for my daughter who at 15 (last week) years old and 6ft and still growing, has a size 13 foot and finds it impossible to find shoes to fit (even ugly school ones!) in Launceston where we live. She has a formal dance coming up and we were really starting to stress when I stumbled upon your site and she found the perfect pair :). I would have to say that Zahra is now one of your biggest fans. She’s been saying for a couple of years now that when she grows up she’s going to design pretty shoes for ladies with large size feet. She even had a name picked out ‘Pretty Big Shoes’, which yes, we’ve since discovered has already been taken ). As the father of an upset but yet very understanding teenage daughter, who has struggled to find quality shoes for social and formal occasions and also having to deal with the stigma of constantly hearing, sorry we don’t have them in your size. On our first trip to the shoe garden I watched my daughter walk in with the anticipation of disappointment in her face. Once inside Carol introduced herself and my daughter instantly felt the welcoming atmosphere and relaxed nature offered to her. Having size 11.5 feet I have struggled all of my adult life to purchase nice shoes. I received my beautiful boots today from The Shoe Garden. Excitement was an understatement when I walked into your store. I have NEVER walked into a store knowing that looking at every shoe on display was a possibility! At 5 foot 6 and size 11 I often get judged on my shoe size compared to my height. When you add pregnant to the equation the result can be lots of tears! To have a store in Brisbane that has groovy as well as pretty shoes is a delight to some who is 6 foot 1 and is a size 12 shoe. Gone are the days of buying shoes online and then having to return them only for the disappointment that they did not fit. I am so use to wearing a “comfortable” shoe that my orthotic can fit into but Carol’s honesty and wide range has even got me wearing pretty/girly shoes that I wouldn’t typically try. There is still at times disappointment that the shoe you want doesn’t fit but at least you know that The Shoe Garden always has an extensive range, so there is always next time! Brisbane local
