My darling Maltese, CC, turned 16 this week.

She has been with me every step of the way on my Shoe Garden journey, from modelling for my logo to always being on my desk ready to greet customers … or bark at the delivery drivers, postie and any dog who happens to walk through her queendom.
(Note: her queendom basically includes everything in her sight, from the footpath and across to the park; she has remarkable vision for her age and only occasionally confuses a pram for a puppy!).
She’s adored by local school children who walk past and wave hello at her. So many customers know her name but have forgotten mine … and that’s okay. I get it.
She makes me laugh every day. I love how she walks when she’s excited … prancing is probably a better word. She’s full of pep and love. She snores like a trooper, too!
As always, there’ll be a birthday party for her at The Shoe Garden tomorrow with 16% off all full-priced stock from today until midnight on Sunday.
Ordering the macarons and asking for pink icing paw prints to be put on them was probably a first for the delightful team at Andanaa & Co, but they graciously agreed.
And those yummy treats, along with champagne and plenty of decorations, will be offered tomorrow to all of CC’s devoted admirers … and Shoe Garden customers!
I think we can learn so much from dogs … about living in the moment, especially. CC is a great role model!
Until next time,
Carol & the Birthday Girlx
