Ah yes, as a proud small business owner whose success relies on her carefully and wisely selecting her stock sometimes a year before delivery, I do delight in being right!
In this case, it’s all about a darling shoe by Isabella that I fell in love with as soon as I saw it at the shoe expo in February.
Then my heart sank when I was told it would only be made up to a size 42; the size that I start from.
I think I pouted.
I know I pleaded.
And I was so happy a few days later to be advised that they would go to a size 44 (or a size 12) but I would have to buy more than usual as they were investing in two new lasts (or moulds) from which they make the shoe.
Sure, I said. Of course I will.
And quietly hoped I was right.
I am watching with great joy as the Ivy sandal flies out the door, with several customers buying it in two colours and one even about to buy it in a third colour.
Phew and woohooo!
