I hope everyone likes slides as they are THE go-to style for this coming summer!
I attended the second shoe expo this week and came away dazzled by the ranges and completely smitten with slides.
Imagine casual leather slides in earthy tones of tan and grey and khaki; pretty slides with block heels and swirls of fabric; fancy slides that would complement the finest of evening gowns; slides covered in lush hot pink and bright orange suede; even slides with a fruit salad motif on them!
Given this trend, which is already big, I made the snap decision to bring out some gorgeous slides (pictured in red, but also in cobalt blue, black, beige and multi-coloured) by J.Renee in the US much earlier than anticipated. They are currently somewhere over the Pacific Ocean on their way to The Shoe Garden.
I’m always fascinated to watch trends emerge and see them sweep through an industry, everyone frantically getting on board, myself included!
Of course, I saw more than slides at the shoe expo. There were also many gorgeous options in sandals, court shoes, flats and wedges. Some conservative, some bold and bright … many will find a home at The Shoe Garden soon.
Meantime, autumn shoes and boots are starting to arrive. Actually, they are starting to flood in and I’m struggling to keep up with unpacking, stacking, processing, labelling and getting them onto my website quick sticks.
As fast as I can unpack them, my new Django & Juliette ballet flats are flying out the door in record time. This trusted style and brand gets a makeover every season with fabulous fabrics and textures, while still retaining fabulous fit and comfort. They seem to be the go-to ballet flat year in, year out, regardless of trends.
Until next time
