One post this week went gangbusters. In it, I shared that the charity I have been supporting with every sale of every pair of shoes for the past 3.5 years – MicroLoan Foundation Australia – had invited me to join its Board.
Talk about chuffed. And excited. And proud.
That actually describes my customers’ reactions to the news … and mine, too, of course!
I love that they loved it and gave the most likes and comments ever. It confirms what I always knew though … my beautiful customers love that they are helping me support an amazing charity simply by buying gorgeous shoes.
This week I also celebrated reaching a fabulous milestone … 3,000 followers on Facebook.
I am particularly proud as I’ve never advertised or bought likes or followers.
It may be naïve, but I prefer people to opt in on their own accord when it comes to social media. I am also so proud that my page is a safe and happy place to admire gorgeous shoes and share funny stories and swap experiences about the “bad old days” pre-The Shoe Garden.
I guess the ex-journo in me still likes to share and entertain. This weekly blog has been a delight to write each week. I’ve missed a few weeks over the year, but only when life got a bit too crazy.
I’m closing The Shoe Garden for two weeks tomorrow, so my next blog will be in early 2019. I am looking forward to a little rest, however my online shop will still be open and I’ll open by appointment whenever I’m able.
I have a huge pile of books (more than 70 at last count…oops!) and can’t wait to stretch out on my sofa and relax and read and nap and daydream. Bliss.
It’s the season for wishes … so I wish for you much happiness and health throughout the festive season and the New Year. Thanks for reading and supporting this proud shoe shop owner!
Until next year!
